I’d recommend at least 800mm, preferably 1200mm for the closest shots. 600mm f/4 and 2x extender would be best.

I love really close shots. That’s why most of my shots come from animals in parks or zoos. If I were at Yellowstone what size lens would I need to be safe and get the shots I like?
